Job description

Perform welding to all quality assurance standards, applicable codes and customer requirements.

Duties

  • Plan welding work and make estimates of materials required.
  • The use of acetylene and electronic welding equipment i.e., MIG, TIG, and standard tools.
  • Job consists of fitting and welding heavy carbon steel fabrications. Must be able to weld stick and MIG all positions.
  • Produce quality products within set schedules.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment and defective materials.
  • Participate in the Safety Program by; enforcing safety rules; developing safety awareness on the floor; reporting of unsafe conditions for remedies; and, reporting all injuries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area.

Skills

  • Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings
  • Able to select the required amperes depending upon the thickness of the job plate.
  • Welding experience in heavy workshops like machine structures, cylinder welding.
  • Proper selection of Electrode depending on the type of welding.
